A LOVING GOODBYE IN A COMFORTING SPACE

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest moments we face as pet parents. At Pet Vet, we believe this time should be filled with love, peace, and dignity. As a family-owned Fear Free practice, our entire team is devoted to minimizing fear for both you and your pet through every step of the process

PEACEFUL PASSINGS SPACES

Our special peaceful passings room has been thoughtfully designed to feel like home. With cozy couches, soft lighting, and familiar scents, this space allows you to sit beside your pet, hold them close, and say goodbye privately and peacefully.

When the weather allows, we also offer the option to say goodbye in a peaceful outdoor area behind the clinic, allowing your family and pet to be surrounded by nature for an extra sense of tranquility.

If you prefer, we can also provide your pet the comfort of passing at home, where they can be surrounded by familiar sights, sounds, smells, and feels.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. ARRIVAL & COMFORT

When you arrive, our team will welcome you into our private room, where we will take the time to help your pet settle with calming pheromones, lowered lights, and a variety of treats. We even offer Hershey kisses to allow our canine friends to taste chocolate for the first time.

2. SEDATION & INJECTION

We begin with a gentle sedative that is injected under the skin, similar to a vaccine, to help your pet relax and drift into a deep, pain-free sleep. You’re welcome to stay beside them, hold them, and speak softly as they rest. Once your pet is fully asleep, the veterinarian will administer the final medication, which allows them to peacefully and painlessly cross the rainbow bridge

3. TIME & REFLECTION

Afterward, you are welcome to spend as much time as needed with your pet in privacy. Our staff is here to support you with care, compassion, and respect

AFTERCARE OPTIONS

1. Cremation: We partner with Pets at Peace Crematorium, a trusted local service that provides several options for your pet’s remains

Partioned Cremation- Multiple pets will be cremated together, and you will receive ashes of your own and other pets
Private Cremation – Your pet is cremated individually, and only their ashes are returned to you
Group Cremation – Several pets are creamated together, and ashes are not returned

Treasured toys or small blankets can also be sent to be cremated with your pet if desired

2. At Home Burial: Pet Vet recommends checking your local ordinances for the legality of burying your pet at home

If this is an option you choose to pursue, we highly reccomend Sweet Goodbye burial products

REMEMBERANCE

1. Pet Vet offers several keepsake options that serve as a physical reminder of your pet’s legacy, such as clay paw prints, hair carriers, urns, and ink prints.

2. Pets at Peace also offers a selection of urns that can be viewed and selected for your pet’s ashes

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Grieving the loss of a pet is naturally and deepy personal. It is important to remember that letting your pet rest is a decision made with love and gives them the gift of relief from pain and suffering. It is our honor to make this transition as peaceful as possible, for both you and your pet.
